| WELCOME TO THE CAPE CORAL POLICE DEPARTMENT |
| This is a very exciting time in the
The core purpose of the Cape Coral Police Department is declared by its mission statement, which is to ensure the safety and well being of our community through a partnership with our citizens. Athough we can take great pride and pleasure in knowing that our efforts in the past have been successful, we must look at the current and future issues we are faced with and take the necessary steps to keep One of this year’s approaches to combat crime and maintain the quality of life our city has come to enjoy is the hiring of 43 new police officers, along with additional support staff. We’re actively searching for men and women who have integrity and strong, moral, ethical values. With the appropriate training and guidance, our new recruits will become officers of quality, helping to ensure the safety of our citizens. We believe that if the department is staffed correctly, officers will have time for preventative patrolling. They can be proactive in the community, getting to know the people they protect and serve and not just responding to call after call. Crime, itself, is not the only quality of life issue when it comes to police services keeping the community safe. Over the next year, the Cape Coral Police Department will also focus on keeping the roadways safe. Traffic issues deserve a great deal of attention in our expanding city. Our goal in traffic services is to dedicate our activities to an outcome—in this case, driver safety in terms of fewer crashes, injuries and deaths. Our approach to this worthy endeavor is to police intelligently and with a meaningful purpose by identifying the problem areas and targeting those areas to achieve the desired outcome. In other words, since we are an outcome driven organization, our goal is consistent with our mission: to ensure the safety and well being of our community. Overall, it’s an exciting time to live and work in Chief Robert Petrovich, Cape Coral Police Department |
